Man pleads guilty in large area meth conspiracyOct 19 2007 12:30PM
Associated Press Miguel Arandas (mee-GHEL' ah-RAHN'-das) was charged with one count of conspiracy with intent to distribute controlled substances. He's free on a personal recognizance bond pending sentencing. Arandas is the younger brother of Jorge (HOR'-hay) Arandas, who's known as Sneaky. Jorge Arandas is serving a life prison term after pleading guilty to charges in the drug case, including the murder of Lee Avila (ah-VEE'-lah) of East Grand Forks, Minnesota. Assistant U-S Attorney Chris Myers says that so far, about 60 people have been charged in the case, which is known as Operation Speed Racer. (Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press.
