Charges filed after Red Lake man shot dead outside Bemidji...Jan 8 2008 11:12AM
Associated Press BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) Prosecutors in northwestern Minnesota have filed weapons charges against a convicted felon who told police he shot and killed an intruder. Prosecutors say 32-year-old Curtis James Thompson was charged during the investigation into the death of 27-year-old Dominic Needham of Red Lake at a home outside Bemidji. County Attorney Timothy Faver says the incident is still under investigation. Faver hasn't decided whether to charge Thompson in the shooting of Needham. Court documents say Needham was found on the deck of a house in Grant Valley Township early Friday morning. One witness told police Needham was trying to get into the house when he was shot. Thompson is being held in the Beltrami County Jail today with his next court date scheduled for January 28th. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 01-08-08 1102CST |
