Associated Press LAFAYETTE, Tenn. (AP) President Bush is assuring Tornado survivors in the South the federal government is ready to step in. As he toured the destruction in Tennessee, he said his mission there is to find out how to help. Bush met a range of officials at a local fire department, including the state's governor. Nearly 60 people were killed by the rampaging tornadoes and the search for victims is continuing. PORT WENTWORTH, Ga. (AP) Georgia's top fire official says crews are working their way through a still-burning sugar refinery where they have found three bodies. Firefighters are trying to reach the remains of three others believed to have died in the overnight explosion. Official suspect sugar dust caused the blast. KIRKWOOD, Mo. (AP) The deputy mayor of a St. Louis suburb where a gunman killed five people at City Hall says the community will recover but it "will never be the same." The brother of the gunman says he left behind a one-line suicide note that read, "The truth will come out in the end." The gunman was shot and killed by officers. MUNICH, Germany (AP) Defense Secretary Robert Gates says anger in Europe over the Iraq war may be undermining NATO'S mission in Afghanistan. Gates says some allies are reluctant to send more combat troops to Afghanistan because of Iraq war resentment. He says he'll attempt to separate the two conflicts in the minds of U.S. allies. Washington (AP) The government is warning doctors that Botox and a competitor, Myobloc, have been linked to deaths among children and other serious side effects suggestive of botulism. The FDA says in rare cases, the toxin can spread beyond the injection site, resulting in paralysis of respiratory muscles and difficulty swallowing.
