Wind project could grow in southwestern North Dakota...May 18 2008 3:17PM
Associated Press Dickinson, N.D. (AP) Developers of a southwestern North Dakota wind project are looking to expand. Ryan Segley, is the project manager for Crownbutte Wind Power LLC, of Mandan. He says the company wants to put up turbines near New England and Elgin. It's already planning two wind centers near Gascoyne. Segley says Crownbutte is waiting to see if there's enough room on transmission lines. It put in a request to the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator, which monitors transmission line traffic. Crownbutte is hoping it can start construction next year. Altogether, the projects would produce enough power for more than 70,000 homes. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 05-18-08 1500CDT |
