HitchcockTulare school board pursues optoutJun 24 2008 3:17PM
Associated Press HURON, S.D. (AP) The Hitchcock-Tulare School Board has voted for a five-year, $300,000 opt-out from property-tax restraints. Hitchcock-Tulare Superintendent Scott Pudwill says the notice of action was published June 11, and the public had 20 days from that date to submit 45 petition signatures to put the issue to a vote. If the opt-out takes effect, he says it will be part of the budget for the 2009-2010 school year. Pudwill says fuel costs have risen, which has caused a major financial impact.
