NEW YORK (AP) New York City police are looking for the man caught on video choking and robbing an 85-year-old woman inside a building elevator.

He's believed to be responsible for other assaults on elderly victims in the city.

Authorities say the attack was one of a dozen in Brooklyn since the end of June. All but one of the victims were female and ranged in age from their mid-50s to their 80s.

The footage from Thursday evening's attack shows the suspect choking and robbing Lillian France, who walks with a cane, as she is about to exit the elevator car on the fifth floor.

Police say the thief made off with her cane and $900 that France had just withdrawn from the bank. France has been hospitalized with high blood pressure.

In five of the attacks, the victims were choked until they passed out and then robbed; in two cases, the assailant arrived on a bike.
