ND birds show no dangerous fluAug 21 2008 5:43AM
Associated Press Dickinson, N.D. (AP) State officials say tests of birds in the state continue to show no signs of a dangerous strain of avian Flu. Game and Fish Department bird management supervisor Mike Johnson says the testing is a continent-wide effort. Johnson says a bird flu strain called H5N1 is the one that affected people in Southeast Asia and caused fears of a pandemic. The Game and Fish Department does testing along with its duck banding operations in August and September. Johnson says the state will continue to run the tests on both wild and domestic birds, but officials have found no reason for worry.
