Associated Press State Gaming Commission and Lottery Office data show that gambling revenue has continued to increase even as residents face higher fuel, food and utility costs. Gross revenues were up 7 percent in Deadwood casinos during the first half of the year totaling nearly $49 million. Gaming Commission records show that gamblers bet $537 million from January through June a 6 percent increase from the same period last year. State Lottery sales and income from video lottery games, scratch-ticket games and lotto games totaled $66.4 million in the second quarter of the year a 4 percent increase from the same period last year.
