Pine Ridge woman gets EPA awardSep 28 2008 6:11AM
Associated Press RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) The Environmental Protection Agency has recognized a Pine Ridge woman for her work in keeping her reservation clean. Bonny Sullivan spent 12 years working with the Oglala Sioux Tribe to get funding and local help to clean up of dozens of illegal dump site. For her efforts, the EPA gave Sullivan its Frank DeCouteau award. Sullivan, who is now retired, says she was surprised and honored and that the award was the biggest thing that's ever happened to her.
