Northern California bus crash leaves 10 deadOct 6 2008 6:32AM
Associated Press The bus, on its way to a casino, overturned, ejecting passengers and crushing others as it rolled into a ditch. Thirty-five passengers were injured. California Highway Patrol officials said the bus crashed yesterday evening on a rural road about 60 miles north of Sacramento. Firefighters used flashlights and infrared sensors to search for possible victims in the tall grass near the bus. CHP spokesman Robert Kays said the bus had an invalid Texas license plate. He says other registration serial numbers also came up invalid. As of early this morning, authorities had not determined the name of the charter company. % |
