Associated Press Washington (AP) The nation's jobless rate has soared to a 14-year high of 6.5 percent. More than 10 million people are now unemployed, and that could get worse with more layoffs expected in the auto industry. ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) sarah palin calls her critics cowards and jerks for anonymous digs at her on matters ranging from wardrobe purchases to her knowledge of geography. She says critics are being cruel, mean-spirited and immature. CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham says his party lost the White House because it was tainted by corruption and overspending and came across as a bunch of "grumpy old men." He tells The Associated Press the party had worn out its welcome but that it's not beyond repair. MIAMI (AP) Paloma is now a dangerous Category 3 storm with 115-mile-an-hour top winds as it lashes the Cayman Islands. A hurricane warning is also in effect for several provinces in Cuba.
