But many of the hard details were put off until the next summit, which will take place after Barack Obama becomes president. LOS ANGELES (AP) Wind-blasted wildfires have destroyed hundreds of homes in Southern California and forced thousands of residents to flee. It's feared some people have been killed. A fire in the hillsides above the San Fernando Valley is more than 10 square miles large and only 10-percent contained. KENLY, N.C. (AP) A woman in her 60s and a child have lost their lives to severe weather, including Tornadoes, that struck central North Carolina early today. Gov. Mike Easley plans to tour the area tomorrow. SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) An engineer who police say fatally shot three former co-workers yesterday at a high-tech company in California's Silicon Valley has been caught. Jing Hua Wu was taken into custody today and booked on three counts of murder after an intensive search. HOUSTON (AP) The Houston Zoo has held a memorial service for Mac, an inquisitive Asian elephant who died this week from an incurable disease.
