Associated Press PIERRE, S.D. (AP) South Dakota students can apply through the end of January for special science scholarships. The Davis-Bahcall Scholarship is named for two noted physicists, Ray Davis and John Bahcall. Up to 10 students will be chosen to spend a month during the summer studying in field such as physics, engineering and geology. The students will study at sites such as the underground science lab in the Black Hills, Princeton University in New Jersey and Gran Sasso Lab in Italy. The scholarships will go to high school seniors and college freshmen attending a school in South Dakota. The scholarships are funded by 3M. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press.
