KXMCTV Minot This year Chris Braaten will take over the reigns as head coach after several years as an assistant under former Aggie head coach David Peterson. The team not only has a new coach but also a lot of new players. With just 3 seniors on the team this year Coach Braaten and players know a lot of the younger girls are going to have to step up. Chris Braaten, Velva Girls Basketball Coach:"Game time experience is going to be the biggest challenge we have. We have a lot of young girls that are capable but they're lacking the game experience at the upper level." Sarah Weidler, Velva Point Guard: "It should be exciting, we lost 2 of our best starters but you know it's ok. We should still do pretty good. We have quickness and good outside shots. We should do pretty good." Brittney Thingstad, Velva Guard: "Some of the girls are going to have to step it up and play new roles. I think everyone is going to haev to play a littel inside because we have no height." The season kicks off for the lady Aggies Monday December 1st in the Sawyer Tournament.
