Mumbai fight continues...FBI to investigate...OPEC meeting on oil price drop

MUMBAI, India (AP) Indian forces are trying to end a standoff with terrorists at the luxurious Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai. Troops fired grenades at the hotel tonight. Authorities believe one or two militants are still holed up in a ballroom.

Washington (AP) FBI agents are flying to India to help investigate the bloody Mumbai attacks. At least five Americans are among the more than 150 people killed. Three U.S. citizens were killed at a Jewish center. An American father and his daughter died in an attack at a cafe.

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) OPEC ministers are downplaying expectations of an immediate output cut but are not dismissing it outright. The ministers are gathering for a hastily convened meeting in Cairo aimed at engineering a rebound in oil prices.

WASHINGTON (AP) Federal regulators have set a safety threshold for the industrial chemical melamine that's greater than the amount of contamination found so far in U.S.-made infant formula. The Food and Drug Administration says levels of melamine found so far are so low they don't cause a health risk to infants.

NEW YORK (AP) Holiday shoppers are turning out in force today.

They've been taking advantage of big discounts and grabbing hard-to-find items like Elmo Live and the "Wii (wee) Fit" exercise game. But many say worries about the economy have them focusing on fewer gifts and less expensive, more practical items.
