Associated Press ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) The Tampa Bay Rays have added a big bat to the middle of their lineup, agreeing on a two-year, $16 million contract with Pat Burrell (BUR'-ihl). The 32-year-old slugger spent the past nine seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, who defeated the Rays in the World Series a little more than two months ago. SAN DIEGO (AP) Chargers star running back LaDainian Tomlinson continues to be bothered by a strained groin that could keep him out of the division playoff game against Pittsburgh on Sunday. The injury kept Tomlinson out of most of Saturday's wildcard playoff win over Indianapolis and he was replaced by Darren Sproles who had 328 all-purpose yards. NEW YORK (AP) The New York Jets will interview Cardinals offensive line coach Russ Grimm on Thursday about their coaching vacancy, a person familiar with the search has told The Associated Press. Grimm will become the fourth candidate interviewed to replace the fired Eric Mangini. TAMPA, Fla. (AP) A Florida man is suing San Diego Chargers running back Michael Bennett and former Tampa Bay teammate Anthony Davis, saying they attacked him at a restaurant. Brian Gordon said in a lawsuit that the two players and another man assaulted him in the parking lot in Tampa on Oct. 13 but Bennett says he was trying to be a peacemaker.
