Forget city snow plows...

One rural town digs out using 50-year-old tractors... loaders and Bobcats...

A routine... they are getting sick of! Our Amber Schatz travels to snow-covered Glen Ullin.

(Robert Johnson/Glen Ullin) 11:12 "You turn around, get everything nice and clean and then all of a sudden, you're right back where you were, worse this time." He's lived here for almost 30 years... But after Mother Nature dropped another 22 inches in Robert Johnson's driveway... he's officially calling it... the worst winter ever

(10:59) "I think we're all getting cabin crazy now, we're not able to get out, we're shoveling snow everyday..(11:35 Johnson) "I've got snowblower in the garage, but I can't get at it. I use tractor to get out snowblower." (laughter)


Whether they use a tractor, loader, snowblower or bobcat... Pushing fresh snow off the streets has become routine here... after, count 'em... nearly SIX months of winter

(1:45) "We had one last week, 14 inches and now we got this one about 22 inches... but it's getting a little tiring after awhile... can't put up with it." While delivering papers... he never thought he would still be using his mouthguard to keep the cold air out... in April... But many workers can only continue their daily grind...and try to look on the bright side of MORE SNOW

1:45 "Good moisture, fill up dams and everything." They do a good job cleaning streets, get a lot of practice." From in town... to out of town... Cleanup crews are doing their thing once again.

(No CG) 1:21 "I was looking forward to a lot of snow this winter, cuz we're dry here, and now we're getting more than we want... now I'm looking forward to warm weather, get on Golf course again..." Unfortunately... (14:15 NATS)that's the only putting residents will see for quite awhile..

Some residents say they don't worry about flooding as much... because the town is on a hill...
