Sheriff says man presumed drowned in Park RiverApr 14 2009 6:32AM
Associated Press Grafton, N.D. (AP) Walsh County Sheriff Lauren Wild says a man missing after his pickup was swept away by floodwaters is presumed drowned. Searches Sunday and Monday for 27-year-old Jared Udby of Adams turned up no trace of him. Wild says no more formal, organized searches are planned until the water at the crossing northwest of the town of Park River has gone down. Officials plan to monitor the river daily to search for Udby's body. The pickup is still in the river just off the crossing. Wild says the land around it has been searched extensively. Two passengers in the pickup swamp to safety after it was swept away early Sunday morning. Information from: KXPO-AM (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
