Here is the latest North Dakota news from The Associated Press

Bismarck, N.D. (AP) North Dakota's House and Senate each approved 5 percent pay raises for state workers. But they differ on the details and there's no sign leaders of either chamber are ready to change.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) Iran's president says Fargo journalist Roxana Saberi should be allowed to offer a full defense in appealing her eight-year prison sentence on charges of spying for the United States. Some see that message as a sign that Iran's leadership does not want the case to derail any moves toward a dialogue with the Obama administration.

LaMOURE, N.D. (AP) The North Dakota National Guard has been dropping 1-ton sandbags to help crews reinforce an emergency spillway eroding at the Cottonwood Creek Dam at Lake LaMoure.

Officials say the main threat is to farms and roads, and farmers in the area have been evacuated.

Grand Forks, N.D. (AP) A statement from the family foundation of the late Ralph Engelstad says the foundation will abide by the decision of the Sioux people on the fate of the University of North Dakota's Fighting Sioux nickname and logo. Engelstad used logo throughout the Hockey arena he built at UND. Members of the Spirit Lake Sioux tribe are to vote tomorrow on whether they support it.
