Devils Lake, N.D. (AP) A senior at Devils Lake High School will graduate today, after being rescued from drowning. Authorities say 18-year-old Amanda Burtness lost control of her vehicle Friday afternoon. It overturned and became submerged in a water treatment system holding pond along the highway. She was rescued by a member of the Lake Region Search and Rescue Team.

(AP) One of the newest graduates at Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg High School is a man who last attended school 68 years ago. Eighty-three-year-old Kenneth Olson yesterday received an honorary degree awarded to military veterans who went to war rather than to a classroom.

(AP) American Indian farmers suing the federal Agriculture Department over alleged farm loan discrimination are seeking at least $500 million and that amount might rise. The lead attorney for the group says the estimate will be revised this summer, using data from the new federal Census of Agriculture.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) Bismarck-based Basin Electric Power Cooperative has delayed the projected completion date of a $2 billion power plant proposed for the Selby, S.D., area, until after 2014. Spokesman Daryl Hill says the economy and uncertainty over federal regulations concerning carbon emissions are contributing to the delay.
