Pow Wow

One of the first major pow wow events of the season kicked off in New Town this week.

The Four Bears Powwow started on Thursday night and continues through this Sunday...

Dancers are competing across several categories for some big cash prizes...and organizers say this year, they've had 22 drums come in from across state lines and Canada.

Tribal business councilwoman Judy Burgh says it's worth the drive.

(Judy Brugh) "You'll get to see the beauty that goes into the dancing, the costumes, the singing, the drumming...they have drum contests..and there's a lot of drummers that are set up so it's a chance to buy some genuine Indian products."

The dancing will run until about 6 pm Sunday evening and the event takes place at the Four Bears convention center. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
