Flood warning continues in Bismarck areaJun 16 2009 9:27AM
Associated Press BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) The Bismarck area and other parts of central North Dakota are under a flood warning after record rainfall and street flooding. The National Weather Service says Bismarck got 3.2 inches of rain Monday, topping the mark of just over 3 inches set on the same date in 1953. The weather service has issued a flood warning for Burleigh County, eastern Morton County and northern Kidder County until 1 a.m. Wednesday. Rainfall amounts reported in Burleigh and Morton counties range from 5 inches to 7 inches, and street flooding Monday night in Bismarck and Mandan led to a no travel advisory. Weather service forecaster Joshua Scheck said showers and thunderstorms could continue through most of the week. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 06-16-09 0921CDT |
