Hail, strong winds batter WyndmereJun 19 2009 5:01AM
Associated Press WYNDMERE, N.D. (AP) Chain saws have been heard in the town of Wyndmere, in southeastern North Dakota, after a night of rain, hail and wind. The wind that came through Thursday caused even large trees to tumble. Resident Alice Rowland says she was watching TV and heard a loud noise, then saw a "tree in the window that didn't belong there." No injuries have been reported. As soon as the rain stopped, Chad Schultz grabbed his chain saw and started clearing a path through his mother's driveway. Brad Abel scooped up chunks of hail to show others. He said he would not want to get hit by any of them. Information from: KVLY-TV, http://www.valleynewslive.tv (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 06-19-09 0450CDT |
