Bike the Border BeginsJun 19 2009 7:44PM
KXMCTV Minot That hasn't stopped dozens of cyclists from participating in the annual "Bike the Border" tour. Over a three-day period, riders from across the US and Canada bike a total of nearly 160 miles along the international border Today's first leg started in Westhope and ended in Mohall. Tour chairman, Bard Otto, says the ride is a great way to experience the outdoors and it's also a great way to experience some interesting people. (Barb Otto, Tour Chairman) "You meet a lot of people and we try to promote it as a family ride, so there's kids on this route. The youngest one this year is six years old. A lot of dads are biking with their kids, it's Father's Day this weekend, so that's kinda fun." Tomorrow's second leg stretches 70 miles from Westhope to Bottineau, and finally up to Lake Metigoshe State Park. Riders will return to Westhope on Sunday.
