Grand Forks man arrested after child injuredJul 1 2009 5:23PM
Associated Press Grand Forks, N.D. (AP) A man faces an attempted murder charge after his 4-week-old daughter was found with severe head injuries. Bail has been set at $10,000 for 35-year-old Steven Klein of Grand Forks, who was arrested earlier this month. Authorities say his daughter was flown to a Fargo hospital after her mother returned from shopping last Aug. 24. and found her unresponsive. The charge filed against Klein is listed as attempted murder or child abuse. Prosecutor Meredith Larson said authorities have probable cause for both. Larson said the girl is now in the custody of social services workers. Klein is scheduled for a July 22 preliminary hearing. His attorney, Rebecca McGurran, did not immediately return a message seeking comment. Information from: Grand Forks Herald, http://www.grandforksherald.com (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
