Fargo, N.D. (AP) Police say a man is lucky to be alive after plummeting about 35 feet from the roof of the Fargo Civic Center.

Authorities say two people were on the roof about 1:30 a.m.

Thursday. One climbed down. The other jumped or fell, hitting a guard rail and then striking his head on the sidewalk.

He was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

Police Sgt. Bill Ahlfeldt says an officer witnessed the incident, and the two people could face trespassing charges.

Authorities say they had been drinking.
