July Fourth is a day we celebrate our nations independence. With that independence come rights one of those rights is the Right to Free Speech.

Tonight many people are expected to exercise this right on the State Capitol steps.

Brad Feldman shows you the message they hope to send loud and clear.

(Sound) From tax day- to independence day...the message is the same

(Karmen Siirtola/ Upset Taxpayer) "It's wrong for the people in this nation not to be heard." Karmen Siirtola has seen the America she has grown to love change

A change she says has steered the country in the wrong direction

(Karmen Siirtola/ Mandan Resident) "And now we are at a crossroads I believe that says we have got to care now. we have got to care because we are at this crossroads and if we dont stand up as a people and as a nation and say stop we are not going to take it anymore they are going to go the route they are going and we won't know the America we grew up in in ten years. It wont be here." Siirtola says it is not a one party problem or a one person problem

She says it is something that has taken place over time

In her words out of control spending, bailouts and stimulus programs have done nothing but increase the countries debt

A debt she says will only increase if the health care reform and cap and trade passes

(Karmen Siirtola/ Mandan Resident) "If we need to have any of these programs that they think we need if we waited this long we can wait a little longer it is no different than buying a new car. If this one is still working and we can't afford a new car payment, I guess we keep the car we got." Siirtola will be among the crowd at the Rally on the Capitol Steps. She hopes together as one...the groups voice will be heard all the way in Washington
