Associated Press Grand Forks, N.D. (AP) Sen. Kent Conrad says health care is a tough issue to tackle but it can't be ignored. The North Dakota Democrat is holding public meetings around the state to get comments from health care administrators, doctors and patient advocates. Bismarck, N.D. (AP) Burleigh County is moving ahead with plans to change its pay schedule in January, despite opposition from employees. Workers say a short check after the first week of the transition will throw off their monthly budgets. A human resources director says the shortfall will be made up in July. BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) Drivers should be aware that state Highway Patrol troopers will be out in force during the holiday weekend. The state reported only one traffic fatality over the holiday last year. BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) Three North Dakota Highway Patrol officers have been honored with the distinguished service medal. Trooper Megan Christopher got the medal yesterday for her role in the arrest of four armed fugitives. Trooper Ben Kennelly and Sgt.
