Special Helper's Love of the GameJul 21 2006 10:30AM
KXMB Bismarck but - outside those lines - its also all business for a man who's always hustling reporter Dan Williamson has more. <<"(dan williamson:) he doesn't wear cleats and he doesn't play a position - but if you ask the governors coaching staff, they will tell you that ryan suchy does plenty - and is one of the teams most important contributors (nat sound:) when its game-day for the governors - its also game day for ryan whether its talking strategy or tossing warm ups - his mind is always on the game (ryan suchy:) i've done this a long time ryan has downs syndrome - but down is not a word that's used to describe him. his smile is contagious and so is his intensity. (mike skytland:) he lets his emotions show and it is just that passion for what is going on. He's really into the game and he sees stuff and it is really interesting to watch him in fact, ryan's colleagues say he might be hardest working bat-boy in the business (blaine steiner:) here is a guy that is coming out here, he's on his own - he's not getting paid or anything - and y'know, he hustles out there and picks up the bats or picks up the helmets and y'know, he is always talking to the kids and he just has a love for the game (zach wentz:) he brings a lot of energy to the team, he's a lot of fun. He adds a different dimension to the club - he likes to get on guys and keeps the dugout nice and loose and just keeps us ready to play as the governors get ready for the postseason - coaches its crucial that the athletes adopt his attitude (ryan suchy:) stay focused, y'know, try your best and [make an] attempt (mike skytland:) he is always into stuff and maybe if some guys are laxing a little bit and not really with it - and ryan's into it, i think maybe that focuses everybody a little bit and does help us out (blaine steiner:) he loves the game - he knows what is going on and y'know, i think he has high expectations for the team and y'know, when things don't go our way - he gets a little upset, but it is ok - it lightens the mood in the dugout and that light mood has helped lead the governors to lots of victories - and perhaps many more for eye on dakota sports, i'm dan williamson.
