Wal-Mart to open first Canadian supercenters TORONTO (AP) Wal-Mart Canada, which is preparing to open its first three Canadian supercenters this week, plans to open up to 14 more next year.

While he won't specify where the new Canadian supercenters will be located because of pending municipal approvals, company President and C-E-O Mario Pilozzi said each new supercenter could create up to 500 new jobs apiece.

Analysts say the Wal-Mart supercenter will revolutionize the way Canadians shop. They're almost twice as big as regular Wal-Mart stores and will carry a full range of fresh produce, meats and bakery products, in addition to general merchandise.
