Montana photographer mauled by grizzly back in hospital...Jun 13 2007 9:22PM
Associated Press BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) The Bozeman man who was attacked by a grizzly bear last month in Yellowstone National Park is back in the hospital. K-T-V-MT-V reports that Jim Cole has returned to the hospital for additional treatment. Doctors had to replace some of the plates in his face. A friend says Cole is still resting a lot and is in good spirits. Cole suffered facial wounds when he disturbed a grizzly while shooting photographs in the park's Hayden Valley. Park officials say Cole was hiking alone, off a trail, and was two or three miles from a road when the female bear with a single cub attacked. Cole was taken to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, but was released earlier this month. The May 23rd attack was Cole's second run-in with bears. He was also injured in 1993 after being mauled by a grizzly bear in Glacier National Park. Information from: Lincoln Graves/KTVM-TV, http://www.ktvm.com (Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press.
