Former Alabama judge opines on Fargo monument

(Jim Monk/WDAY) Fargo, N.D. (AP) A former chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court is weighing in on the battle to save a Ten Commandments monument near Fargo City Hall.

Roy Moore refused a federal judge's order to remove a Ten Commandments monument from the Alabama Supreme Court. Moore's actions eventually cost him his job.

A citizens' group is circulating petitions in Fargo to prevent City Commissioners from moving the monument. The group hopes to place the issue on the ballot during the next city election.

Moore says he's surprised the City Commission wants to give away the monument after winning a federal court battle to keep it where it is.

He called the City Commission's actions quote "ridiculous." (Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 06-20-07 1551CDT | save this article / add to your favorites list

Posted by Pat on Jun 20 2007 11:35PM - WHERE are they thinking of moving the ten commandments to?
maybe right in front of the jail. nanananana....see it said, "thou shalt NOT steal", "thou shalt NOT kill", "don't wish you had what belongs someone else." it said "don't cheat on your marriage partner" it said: "don't swear and misuse God's NAME." "don't worship meaningless gods before the ONE REAL GOD who created heaven and earth".... it said all these things and more, but na na na na na, WE aren't going to TELL YOU....so YOU go to jail....na na na na na

it is cruel and PERVERSE to lock people up in prisons for stealing and killing and then to HIDE the words that warned them "thou shalt NOT...."

the "free thinkers" are suffering from a serious case of "constipation of thought and diareaha of the mouth" as usual.
