State vet orders bull testingJul 16 2007 4:33PM
Associated Press State veterinarian Susan Keller says the rules are designed to control the spread of trichomoniasis (trik-ah-mah-NY'-ah-sis). It's a sexually transmitted cattle disease that causes early term abortions and infertility. Keller says the requirements go into effect July 23rd as a result of the disease being reported in surrounding states. She says the restrictions are aimed mostly at older bulls. Keller says bulls that are imported for exhibit, rodeo or seasonal grazing may be exempted. (Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 07-16-07 1625CDT |
