At least six dead in bridge collapse...Rumsfeld's regret...Massive toy reca...Aug 1 2007 9:54PM
Associated Press MINNEAPOLIS (AP) At least six people are dead from a bridge collapse in Minneapolis. Dozens more are injured, some critically. The freeway bridge over the Mississippi River collapsed during evening rush hour, dropping dozens of vehicles, tons of concrete and twisted metal crashing into the water. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Federal officials and local authorities in Minneapolis say terrorism is not suspected as the cause of a deadly bridge collapse. The police chief says there's nothing to suggest there was anything other than a structural collapse. MINNEAPOLIS (AP) A school bus full of kids was one of the vehicles caught in the Minneapolis bridge collapse. Officials say the children made it to safety with mostly minor injuries. The bus was on a slanted slab next to a burning truck and came to rest leaning on a side guard rail. Washington (AP) Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says there was no cover-up of the friendly-fire death of Army Ranger Pat Tillman in Afghanistan. He told a House committee he regrets the Pentagon's five-week delay in telling the truth about how Tillman died. WASHINGTON (AP) Some Big Bird, Elmo, Dora and Diego toys are being recalled. They're among among the 83 types of toys Fisher-Price is recalling because their paint contains excessive amounts of lead. The worldwide recall involves almost a million toys.
