Bicyclists dies after collision with school bus in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Police are investigating after a school bus struck and killed a bicyclist near Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis today.

Witnesses say the accident happened about 10 a-m, and the bicyclists' body lay in the street covered with a sheet for nearly 2 hours. The damaged bicycle was visible nearby.

The bus was operated by Laidlaw education Services of Brooklyn Park. The company issued a statement saying it worked every day to avoid this sort of accident.

Police said there were no children on the bus. The driver was unhurt.

The name of the victim was not immediately released.
