Latino workers allege exploitation by Twin Cities drywall company...Feb 4 2008 5:23PM
Associated Press MINNEAPOLIS (AP) Eight Latinos filed a class-action lawsuit Monday alleging exploitation and labor violations by a Twin Cities drywall company. The plaintiffs claim they were among a class of Latino workers who were paid below Minimum Wage, required to work overtime at a substandard rate and denied economic and health benefits. They are identified as John Does in the lawsuit, which was filed in federal court. The defendants include Mulcahy Inc., Mulcahy Development and the Mulcahy Family Limited Liability Limited Partnership, all of Mahtomedi. They deny the allegations. The drywall company has worked on the Mall of America and several Minneapolis condominium projects. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 02-04-08 1708CST |
