Two wolves killed, six to be killed for killing livestock...Apr 22 2008 2:42PM
Associated Press HELENA, Mont. (AP) Two wolves have been killed and six more face the same fate for recent livestock depredations in Montana. USDA Wildlife Services killed two wolves in the Hall area, after a calf was killed on private land on April 15. The state Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks has authorized the shooting of the remaining six wolves in a pack in the Gravelly Mountains after two calves were killed earlier this month. Two wolves from the same pack were killed in mid-December, after depredations in July and August of 2007 and a probable depredation in October. USDA Wildlife Services officials say at the time the two wolves were shot in the Gravelly Mountains, all members of the pack had signs of mange on their tails.
