Jessica Lange estate in MN sells for $1.82 millionSep 25 2008 7:30PM
Associated Press STILLWATER, Minn. (AP) Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard's estate in Stillwater has finally sold for $1,825,000. The 116-year-old home sits on a 2.5 acre lot with sweeping views of the St. Croix (croy) River. It first went on the market in 2004 with an asking price of $3.3 million. The Oscar-winning actress and the award-winning playwright dropped the price a year later. And they tried offering the Victorian main house and guest house/pool house separately, for about $2 million and $650,000 respectively. Lange and Shepard pulled it off the market last fall, but listed it again this summer for $1.95 million. Real estate agent Jill Roffers, of SKY Sotheby's International Realty, told the St. Paul Pioneer Press the new owners closed on the house Friday. She would not say who the owners are. Lange, a Cloquet native, bought the former bed-and-breakfast in 1994 for $415,000. She and Shepard lived there about nine years and raised their three children there.
