Associated Press LAS VEGAS (AP) O.J. Simpson is waking up in jail after being convicted yesterday in Las Vegas at his armed robbery and kidnapping trial. Simpson's lawyer says the verdict, which was guilty on all 12 counts, was expected. Both Simpson and his co-defendant plan appeals. CHICAGO (AP) Barack Obama is going after John McCain on health care. Obama argues that under McCain's plan, at least 20 million Americans would lose the medical insurance they have on the job. But experts say 21 million would gain individual coverage. Washington (AP) The next move in the efforts to settle the crisis in the financial markets belongs to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. With amendments and additions, Congress has passed and President Bush has signed the 700-billion-dollar rescue package Paulson requested. He says the treasury staff is already working to get the money flowing. PARIS (AP) The head of the International Monetary Fund is calling on Europe to shoulder its responsibilities in the global financial crisis "like the United States." Dominique Strauss-Kahn calls it a "trial by fire" for the countries that use Europe's common currency. BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) Half a century after he helped steal it as a kid on Halloween, Tim Haney of Normal, Illinois, has returned a historical plaque to a mansion in Bloomington.
