Obama and Clinton...Emergency car loan...4 new planets?...Nov 13 2008 11:07PM
Associated Press CHICAGO (AP) There's word that Senator Hillary Clinton is in the running to be the next secretary of state. That's according to Democratic officials. The transition team for President-elect Barack Obama says it has no comment. CHICAGO (AP) The governor of Illinois will now get to pick the state's next senator. President-elect Barack Obama is resigning his seat effective Sunday. Obama says it's up to the governor to decide who steps in. Washington (AP) Senate Democrats hope to pass a $25 billion emergency loan for U.S. automakers next week, although Republicans are fighting it. The money would come from the $700 billion bailout package. WASHINGTON (AP) An advisory panel set up by Congress says the government should be spending at least $60 million a year on research into so-called Gulf War illness. The amount fell to less than $5 million in 2006. WASHINGTON (AP) Astronomers think they've spotted three planets around one distant star, and a fourth around another star. That would raise the number of planets detected outside our solar system to more than 300. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 11-13-08 2252CST |
