Washington (AP) Barack Obama presents his economic team Monday, including Timothy Geithner (GYT'-nur) as treasury secretary. The president-elect is signalling he will move urgently on efforts to rescue the economy, demanding that the new Congress quickly pass a massive two-year recovery program.

CAMARILLO, Calif. (AP) The Lundberg Survey says for the first time since March 2005, Gas Prices across the nation have dropped below $2 a gallon. Gas was cheapest in St. Louis, at $1.89 for a gallon of self-serve regular. It was most expensive in Honolulu, at $2.81.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) North Korea says it will suspend a joint tourism project and halt cross-border train service with South Korea starting next week. Pyongyang cites what it says is Seoul's hard-line stance on the communist North.

HOUSTON (AP) Some possible progress after astronauts tinkered with a water recycling system aboard the international space station. The crew has been having problems with the new device which is supposed to convert urine and sweat into drinkable water.

LOS ANGELES (AP) Kanye West has picked up his first-ever American Music Awards. West was a double winner, collecting trophies for favorite male rap/hip-hop artist and favorite rap/hip-hop album for his CD, "Graduation." The evening's big winner was 19-year-old Chris Brown, who won three awards, including artist of the year honors.
