Washington (AP) A new warning from the Big Three automakers that they're running out of gas. GM, Ford, and Chrysler are offering detailed recovery plans they hope will win them a government bailout. Hearings on the plans are scheduled Thursday and Friday.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) It appears Pakistan will not hand over 20 terrorists wanted by India in the wake of the Mumbai attacks. Pakistan's president has told CNN that they'll be tried in Pakistan if there's evidence they've done anything wrong.

WASHINGTON (AP) The Obama transition team hears from a dozen retired generals and admirals today about what needs to be "done and undone" by the next administration. The former officers want a reversal of the current interrogation, detention, and rendition policies.

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) For the first time in a week, a commercial jet has arrived at Bangkok's main airport. The airport, plus a smaller one, were shut down by anti-government protesters who forced resignation of the prime minister. A caretaker leader has taken over.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) A dozen more people will be inducted later this month into the California Hall of Fame. They include actors Jane Fonda and Jack Nicholson plus musicians Dave Brubeck and Quincy Jones. Five people will be inducted posthumously.
