Mandan man sentenced for child pornJan 5 2009 5:44PM
Associated Press Bismarck, N.D. (AP) A Mandan man has been sentenced to more than five years in prison for possessing child pornography. Chad Mutschelknaus pleaded guilty in October to possession of materials involving the sexual exploitation of minors. Authorities say Mutschelknaus transmitted more than 200 images containing child porn to an undercover police officer on the Internet, and possessed about 5,000 still images of child porn on his computer. U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland sentenced the 30-year-old Mutschelknaus to five years and three months in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release. Defense attorney Chad McCabe had asked for a sentence of probation. McCabe said a psychological evaluation shows that his client has no sexual interest in younger children.
