It's a day of celebration in Dickinson.

Officials break ground on the Badlands Activity Center.

The sixteen million dollar facility will include an artifical turf field, olympic standard track with state of the art scoring and a new grandstand.

(Richard McCallum/ Badlands Activity Center) "It has involved a number of people, great partnerships a lot of collaboration and it is an opportunity today to celebrate not only a new beginning for a new facility but also to celebrate the great history and tradition and accomplishments that we have enjoyed here at Whitney Stadium as we say goodbye to the old facility."


A new feature of the activity center is a multi-purpose space.

This part of the facility will host craft fairs, car shows and other events.

The bleachers, field and track will be ready to go by September.
