Washington (AP) The first veto threat has been issued even though President-elect Barack Obama hasn't even taken the oath of office yet. Obama told fellow Democrats he would not be denied use of the remaining $350 billion in federal bailout funds. He also pledged to revise parts of the plan that have been criticized for not actually helping homeowners facing foreclosure.

WASHINGTON (AP) Shine up the corporate jets. Executives of banks getting federal bailout money will get to use company jets after all. House restrictions barring recipients from owning or using private aircraft have been lifted after Kansas lawmakers said it could hurt their state, one of the nation's centers of aircraft manufacturing.

HARPERSVILLE, Ala. (AP) He allegedly tried to fake his own death, then cut one of his wrists, but investment adviser Marcus Schrenker, beset with legal and financial woes, is in police custody. He was found in a Florida campground. He apparently parachuted out of his plane, which crashed as he sped off on a motorcycle he had stashed.

LOS ANGELES (AP) Screen Actors Guild president Alan Rosenberg says a strike authorization vote will go forward, but it's not clear when. A 30-hour board meeting exposed major differences between a faction which supports the vote and another that doesn't.

The latter group controls the board but the pro-vote side fought a major delaying action at the meeting.

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) A dolphin dispute pits animal rights advocates against federal wildlife officials. The Feds say the best thing to do for five dolphins swimming in a New Jersey river is leave them alone. The activists say something should be done because the dolphins are suffering in the cold water.
