Gun Law Narrowly Passes

A bill to allow guns in public places was approved - but is more restrictive than what was first proposed.

The North Dakota House has approved a bill to allow college students who have concealed weapons permits to keep weapons and ammunition in their on-campus apartment. But that's the only place on campus weapons will be allowed. The apartment exemption does not include dorms. And the student must also have hunters education.

(Froseth) I have an A- rating with NRA and I'm sure after I push my red button on this bill it'll drop to an F. But I'm more concerend about my grandkids than I am about my NRA Raiting

(Mueller) Having access to a gun, is very bad policy

(Ruby) People going through this proces of getting a concealed weapons permit are law abiding citizens

(Grande) You can not take this into child care areas, eating, classrooms, offices. This is strictly for the area you're living in. So that you can protect yourself on your property."

The bill was first proposed to allow those with concealed weapons permits to have guns at all public places including campuses, concerts and Football games. The revised bill passed with a vote of 48-46. watch the video | save this article / add to your favorites list
