Associated Press GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) USDA Wildlife Services will try to capture and put a radio collar on a wolf after a calf was killed on private property west of Augusta. The killing was reported Thursday, and federal wildlife officials have placed traps in the area. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks says the Monitor Mountain pack's radio collar was not heard near the site, and the new Benchmark pack that has a territory close to the property has not been collared. It is unknown which wolf or wolves were involved in the incident. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.) APNP 03-27-09 2238CDT |
