Timetable not changing...No troops to Pakistan...Fargo still...Mar 29 2009 11:54AM
Associated Press Washington (AP) Speeding up the troop pullout from Iraq is not something President Barack Obama will consider. He tells CBS' "Face the Nation" that the withdrawal plan his administration has put forward is "the right one." He also says he's confident the situation in Iraq is moving in the right direction. WASHINGTON (AP) President Barack Obama says he will consult with Pakistani leaders before pursuing terrorist hideouts in their country. In an interview on CBS, Obama says Pakistan needs to be more accountable, but he rules out deploying U.S. troops there. PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) Pakistani officials say militants suspected in a kidnapping fired rockets at police giving chase, killing a senior police official and five other people. Separately, officials are searching for 11 police officers abducted near a major U.S. military supply route. FARGO, N.D. (AP) Officials in Fargo, N.D., say the threat of flooding won't be over for several days. The Red River is receding, but it's still more than 22 feet above flood stage. That will test the dikes protecting the city. Sandbagging efforts are resuming. ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) A new study suggests statin drugs, like Crestor and Lipitor, can cut the risk of dangerous blood clots. Millions take the drugs to lower cholesterol and prevent heart disease. But doctors say the study's results, published today by The New England Journal of Medicine, provide a reason for people with normal cholesterol to consider taking the medicines.
