HELENA, Mont. (AP) A veteran administrator with the Great Falls College of Technology, Joe Schaffer, has been named the school's new dean.

Schaffer has worked at the Montana State University campus in Great Falls the last seven years in a variety of administrative positions. For the past year, he served as interim dean, during which time he led strategic planning for the school.

Schaffer replaces Mary Sheehy Moe, who is now deputy commissioner for two-year education in the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education.

He will begin his two-year appointment on July 1.
