http://sayanythingblog.com/index.php I don’t know how many times I heard or read the moral equivalence bunch, when they are confronted with the facts about radical Islamic terrorism, point their fingers and with righteous indignation say, “Well, what about the inquisition? What about the Klan? See, we’re just as bad!” Aside from the obvious fact that civilization came to grips with those monsters long ago, the equivocation simply doesn’t work anyway. Here are some very interesting numbers, along with the related source material from The Religion Of Peace:
Note that the stats from the death penalty and the politically related conflict in Northern Ireland are thrown in there for good measure as well
I’ll be interested to see just what kind of soft shoe some of our liberal readers will do to get around this one

Unsound Comparison #1: More people are killed each year by Islamic extremists than in the 350 years of the Spanish Inquisitions combined.
The "Islamic extremists" have modern technological weapons at their disposal that people didn't have in the 15th century. It would have been a sound camparison to compare the number of those killed by "Islamic extremists" and those who were killed during the European colonialism since they equate Islamic extremism with being a imperial force.
Unsound Comparison #2: More civilians were killed within the first two hours of 9-1-1 than during the 36 years of sectarian conflict in Ireland.
Ireland is a country and their violence was limited to Ireland. He doesn't include the terrorism commited in the UK. But it is still an unsound comparison on account of the fact that "Islamic Terrorism" is not geographically bound as was the case with the IRA. It would make more sense to compare the number of those whom Muslim extremists killed to those killed by Americans who dropped the Atomic Bomb on the civilians of Japan.
Unsound Comparison #3: "Islamic terrorists" murder more people every year than the KKK in 50 years.
Again "Islamic terrorists" is a large network that is not limited to one particular country. The KKK is a white American organization that never had international reach. But the KKK was a White-Christian organization and so a better comparison would be to compare the Christian west to "Islamic terrorist." The Christian West has killed more.
Unsound Comparison #4: 19 Muslim hijackers killed more innocents on September 11 than were executed in American prisons in the last 65 years.
This is the most ridiculous comparison and the stangest. One American fighter pilot has killed more innocents through collateral damage than the 19 highjackers. Or how about the fact that the homocide rate in New York is higher than that of the entire United Kingdom. I could go on.
The point here is that this is really, really bad syllogism. The police have a name for this, I can't think of it now, but it's when they reclassify homocides to give the impression that murder or crime is down. This poor job. The author of this article obviously hasn't any intellectual integrity.
Thanx Shareef, u did a great job.
